Community of Discovery

NCCI and Transforming Solutions, Inc. (TSI) entered into a joint venture in 2015 to establish a “community of discovery” with the purpose of furthering collaboration and innovation within a broad distribution of higher education institutions.  This community has focused on reinvention in the specific context of a shifting higher education landscape.

Taking broad shifts in higher education, including decreased funding, increased competition and increased stakeholder expectations, as a given, this group has served to define the most pressing issues demanding transformative leadership, and then collaboratively work to define, test and recommend to the community at large a limited number of game changing solutions.

NCCI and TSI envision this Community as a means to create a position of relevance and thought leadership in the higher education market.  To the extent possible, the group should serve to arm community members, the broader NCCI membership and TSI to lead dialogue regarding higher education transformation at their respective institutions and beyond.  While we intend to serve a societal good as a primary objective, the secondary objective of organizational advancement is present and acknowledged.

Requirements

In August of each year, NCCI and TSI welcome new members into the Community of Discovery. Community of Discovery membership is open to individuals at all NCCI member institutions that are either going through (or planning to embark on) some level of transformation. Participants are asked to commit to attend our 90 minute monthly meetings (at least most of the time), and are invited to share ideas and needs openly with the with the fellow members of the Community.
