Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), a consortium of twelve research universities, developed strategic collaborations that saved over $29 million and impacted over 900 faculty leaders and 100 peer networks.  This collaboration includes:

• coordinated purchasing process - saved $16 million
• shared fiber network that provides a faster network - saved $13 million
• shared over 100 study abroad and course development efforts
• best practice sharing and networking - 100+ peer networks
• leadership development program - 900 leaders

"Capital Needs Analysis"

Brigham Young University created a program for managing capital assets in an integrated way.  The project began as an innovative approach to managing capital assets and expanded to include:

• capital funding, planning, needs projection
• asset re-capitalization/life-cycle management
• improvements/modernization and new asset planning of additional buildings/facilities and site/property needs
• retrofits & renewals

These efforts saved millions and have been adopted by other BYU campuses and by the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints facilities division worldwide.  Many educational institutions and governmental entities are introducing this design.
