On July 18, 2016, The Chronicle of Higher Education announced the colleges and universities recognized as 2016 Great Colleges to Work For®. NCCI sponsor, ModernThink, administers the assessment in partnership with the Chronicle. Six NCCI members were recognized:
- Baylor University (Honor Roll – recognized in 11 of 12 categories)
- Kent State University
- University of Michigan
- University of Notre Dame
- University of Southern California
- University of Washington
Fifteen NCCI member institutions participated in the 2016 program. The news comes on the heels of a well-received plenary session at the 2016 Annual Conference presented by Richard Boyer, Managing Partner of ModernThink, and Catherine Lilly, Senior Advisor to the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officers at the University of Michigan and a past NCCI President.
NCCI member institutions scored higher than others on several questions on the Great Colleges to Work For® survey. This was one of the findings discussed during an interactive plenary session held on Saturday, July 16, at the 2016 Conference in Montreal.
Data extracted from the 2016 survey indicated that 59 percent of NCCI member institution faculty and staff strongly agreed or agreed they are paid fairly for their work, as opposed to 49 percent agreement of all participating institutions. Slightly more NCCI member institutions (59 percent to 55 percent) responded positively that their institution’s orientation program prepares new faculty, administrators, and staff to be effective. In addition, 83 percent of NCCI members agreed their institution’s benefits met their needs.
Congratulations!
